Kuloor, April 19, 2025 — The faithful of St Antony Church, Kulur, gathered in great joy and reverence on the evening of Saturday, April 19, for the Solemn Easter Vigil Celebration, marking the glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Vigil began at 7:00 PM with the Blessing of the New Fire and the lighting of the Paschal Candle by the Main Celebrant, Fr Boniface Pinto, Spiritual Director of the Karnataka Regional Propaedeutic Seminary. This symbolic rite took place outside the entrance of the church, setting the tone for the night of light, hope, and new life.
Once inside, the church was illuminated by the Paschal light as Fr Victor Vijay Lobo, the Parish Priest, proclaimed the Exultet, the Easter Proclamation, in a spirit of deep devotion. The Blessing of the Holy Water was done by Fr Arun J Mendonca, Headmaster of Kulur High School, and the faithful joyfully renewed their baptismal promises.
Fr Boniface Pinto preached a meaningful homily, reminding the congregation of the triumph of life over death and the enduring hope that the Risen Lord brings to all believers.
At the conclusion of the liturgy, Fr Victor Vijay Lobo expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all who took up various responsibilities and contributed to the solemn and prayerful observance of the Holy Week.
