30 Donate Blood, Hundreds Benefit from Free Health Camp at Kulur Church

Kulur, March 22, 2026: A blood donation drive and free health check-up camp organized by the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) at St. Antony Church School Hall, Kulur, witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local community on Sunday, with 30 donors stepping forward to contribute to a life-saving cause.

The blood donation camp was conducted under the supervision of KMC Hospital, ensuring safe and professional procedures. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shruthi, Pathologist at KMC Hospital, emphasized that a single unit of blood can save multiple lives, underlining the importance of regular voluntary donations, especially during emergencies and critical medical needs.

Alongside the donation drive, a free blood testing camp was held in collaboration with Accurate Health Care Center and Thyrocare, offering essential screenings including blood pressure and random blood sugar tests. Participants also had access to discounted comprehensive health packages covering lipid profile, liver and kidney function, thyroid assessment, diabetes screening, vitamin levels, and cardiac risk markers—promoting preventive healthcare and early diagnosis.

The programme began with a ceremonial lamp-lighting and was attended by several dignitaries, including Parish Council Vice President Dr. Vinay Rajath Dsouza, Secretary Laveena Ferrao, Parish Pastoral Commission Coordinator Jeevan Pereira, Catholic Sabha President Rowin D’Souza, Health Commission Secretary Vinisha Monteiro, and ICYM President Arwin Monteiro.

The event was compered by Arwin Monteiro, who also welcomed the gathering and proposed the vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of donors, volunteers, medical teams, and organizers.
