Parish Annual Retreat Concludes with Day Dedicated to Families

The third and final day of the Parish Annual Retreat at St Antony Church, Kulur, Mangalore was prayerfully observed with a special focus on families and their role in building a faith-filled Christian community.

The day began with the Way of the Cross, helping the faithful meditate on the passion of Christ. This was followed by a vibrant session of Praise and Worship led by Mr. Elias Coelho, which prepared the congregation for the retreat reflections and prayer services.

The retreat preacher, Rev. Fr. Basil Vas, Parish Priest of Vorkady Church, delivered a meaningful reflection on the theme of the Family. In his message, he emphasized the importance of building God-centered families, rooted in prayer, mutual respect, love, and understanding among all family members. He encouraged families to become living witnesses of Christian values in society.

During the Eucharistic Adoration, special prayers were offered for various groups within the parish community, including children, youth, couples, the elderly, Religious and singles, seeking God’s blessings and guidance for each stage of life.The retreat concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, during which special prayers were offered for peace in the Middle East, remembering the people affected by conflict and praying for harmony among nations.

At the end of the Eucharistic celebration, Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Victor Vijay Lobo expressed heartfelt gratitude to Fr. Basil Vas for spiritually guiding the parish through the retreat. He also thanked the retreat team members Mr. Simon Pais, Mr. Elias Coelho, and Mrs. Silvy Coelho for their dedicated service in conducting the retreat at Kulur.

The three-day retreat provided the parish community with a meaningful opportunity for spiritual renewal, reconciliation, and deeper commitment to Christian family life.
