ICYM and Catholic Sabha Kulur Organize “Government Facilities Camp”

The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Kulur Unit and the Catholic Sabha Kulur Unit jointly organized a “Government Facilities Camp” (Sarkari Soubhagyagala Shibira) on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Kulur School Auditorium. The initiative was held in collaboration with the Community Employment Training Office, Mangaluru, and the Mangaluru Digital Seva Centre, Kulur, with the active support of local government officials.
Key organizers included Mr. Rovin D’Souza (President, Catholic Sabha Kukur Unit), Mr. Arwin Monteiro (President, ICYM Kulur Unit), and Mr. Alwin D’Souza (Convener).
The primary objective of the program was to assist citizens in availing themselves of various government schemes and services by providing on-the-spot guidance and digital support. Government employees and trained service personnel were present to help participants fill out applications, verify documents, and complete online submissions.

The camp provided immediate assistance and renewal facilities for a range of services, including:

Ayushman Bharat Health Card
Voter ID Enrollment and Corrections
Senior Citizen ID Cards
E-Shram Card

Banking and Pension-Related Services
Participants received step-by-step guidance on eligibility, required documentation, and the digital application process. Officials also assisted in uploading documents and generating acknowledgment receipts on-site.
The event witnessed an enthusiastic response from parishioners and local residents, with many successfully completing their applications. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the initiative, describing it as a “much-needed bridge between citizens and government services.”
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Vinay Rajath Dsouza commended the organizers for their proactive community engagement. He emphasized the importance of public awareness about welfare schemes and encouraged citizens to make the best use of government facilities designed for their social and economic upliftment. Dr. Dsouza also highlighted the significance of youth involvement in driving such initiatives, calling it a model of community collaboration.
